Studio28 Equipment & Technology

Professional tools. Modern production. No unnecessary barriers.

Studio28 was built as a professional recording facility, and we still have an impressive collection of recording equipment, instruments, microphones and outboard gear.

But technology has changed.

Today, our production environment extends far beyond the recording room.

We combine professional studio hardware with modern editing, production, visual and AI-assisted technologies to create music and content for artists wherever they are.

The equipment is important. What we can do with it is what matters.

Audio Production

Studio28 is powered by Pro Tools, running on Mac-based systems and supported by a comprehensive collection of professional plug-ins, virtual instruments and production tools.

Our audio environment includes:

  • Pro Tools production and post-production systems
  • Extensive Waves and other professional plug-in collections
  • Professional audio interfaces and converters
  • Focusrite preamps
  • Neve microphone preamplification
  • Presonus StudioLive systems
  • Extensive audio and MIDI I/O
  • Large sound libraries
  • 70+ virtual instruments and production tools
  • Professional monitoring and recording equipment

This gives us the flexibility to work on everything from a rough demo to a fully produced commercial release.

Send us your song and we’ll tell you what we think it needs.

Professional Microphones

Our microphone collection includes professional models from:

  • Neumann
  • AKG
  • Audix
  • Shure
  • RØDE
  • sE Electronics

Whether recording vocals, acoustic instruments, guitar amps, drums or other sources, we have a range of microphones suitable for different recording situations.

Editing & Post-Production

The modern Studio28 isn’t limited to audio.

We work across audio, video, photography and digital content, using professional creative software and modern production technology.

Our workflow incorporates:

  • Final Cut Pro
  • Pro Tools
  • Final Draft
  • Adobe Photoshop and Creative Cloud applications
  • Professional video editing and post-production tools
  • AI-assisted image and video generation
  • Modern visual effects and content creation technologies

This allows us to take an artist’s existing material and develop it in ways that would previously have required multiple specialists, expensive equipment and considerably larger production budgets.

A song can become a music video.

A photograph can become a visual campaign.

A simple piece of footage can become a finished piece of content.

The Studio Is No Longer Just A Room

This is perhaps the biggest change.

You don’t have to be standing in Studio28 for us to work with you.

You can send us your music.

You can send us photographs.

You can send us video.

You can send us a rough idea recorded on your phone.

We can work with that material remotely and use the same professional production environment, software and creative technology to develop it.

For some projects, recording in the studio will still be the right answer.

For others, it may not be.

We’ll work out what makes sense for you.

That might mean a studio session.

It might mean remote production.

It might mean mixing and mastering.

It might mean creating a music video from photographs and existing footage.

It might mean developing an entire release campaign around a single song.

The technology gives us options.

You don’t need to pay for something you don’t need.

From Recording Studio to Production Studio

Studio28 began as a recording studio.

It has evolved into something much broader.

Today we can work across the entire creative process:

The same principle applies throughout:

Start with what you have. We’ll help you take it further.

Professional technology. Creative thinking.

Having expensive equipment doesn’t automatically make a great record.

Having the latest software doesn’t automatically make a great video.

The tools are only as good as the people using them.

Studio28 combines decades of experience in music production with modern technology and a willingness to experiment.

The objective isn’t to use the most technology possible.

It’s to use the right technology to get the best result.
